The four-cylinder boxer engines of the 718, 718 Style Edition and 718 S models are designed to be powerful and efficient. The Turbo technology with a compact exhaust turbocharger that is optimally adapted to the displacement and power of the engine is responsible for this.
In the 718 GTS 4.0 models, the 4.0-liter-6-cylinder naturally aspirated engine with 394 hp for powerful propulsion and an enormous performance spectrum. Responsiveness? Direct. High revs? Oh yes. Highly emotive and efficient.
The 718 GTS 4.0 models are equipped with the PASM sport chassis. The body is lowered by 20 mm. The springs and anti-roll bars are tuned for more direct and agile handling with high cornering performance.
Optional Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) continuously adjusts the damping force for each individual wheel – according to driving style and road conditions. In addition, the body is lowered by 10 mm.
Precise, not playful. Confident, not reserved. Deep, wide, flat. The design of the 718 models is characterized by clearly defined shapes and the unmistakable silhouette with a characteristic mid-engine flyline.
The soft top of the 718 Boxster lies flat in a sports car shape when closed. At the push of a button, it opens and closes entirely automatically in 9 seconds – even when driving at up to 31 mph.
The side profile emphasizes the mid-engine layout. To optimize the air supply to the engine, the lines on the doors direct the airstream into the large side air intakes. The wheel arches for wheels up to 20 inches make it clear that 718 models are not built for the garage, but for unrestrained driving pleasure.
The horizontal geometry of the air intakes makes the front end appear even wider – giving it a tougher appearance. On the 718 GTS 4.0 models, this impression is further enhanced by the larger air intakes, Black external airblades and front spoiler lip in Black. The fenders? Unmistakably Porsche. They sit higher than the hood and accentuate the expressive headlight design with their shape.
Tailored sportiness: The Sport Seats are comfortable and provide support during spirited cornering. The Sport Seats Plus offer even better lateral support. Other options include the all-electric Sport Seats (14-way) and adaptive Sport Seats Plus (18-way) with memory package. Additionally, the 718 GTS 4.0 models offer lightweight full bucket seats made of carbon fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) with a carbon-weave finish.
Porsche Communication Management (PCM) is your central control hub for audio and communication. The sound systems, such as the optional Burmester High-End Surround Sound System, offer sound performance specially adapted to the 718 models. Porsche Connect extends the existing digital functions of your 718 with numerous services and the My Porsche app.
Lightweight, functional, with a three-spoke design. Two shift paddles enable short gear changes in conjunction with PDK. The GT Sport steering wheel with a smaller diameter provides an even more immersive driving experience, like in motorsports. Both steering wheels are available with multifunction and steering wheel heating as options. In combination with the Sport Chrono Package: The mode switch, for even more emotional driving performance.
The instrument cluster is comprised of three round instruments with an integrated 4.6-inch color screen. The tachometer positioned in the center is characteristic of Porsche.
Lane Change Assist monitors the driver's blind spots and areas to the rear of the vehicle on both sides. A visual signal in the corresponding door mirror panel informs the driver that a vehicle has been detected in the adjacent lane. Available at 20+ mph.
Radar- and video-based technology that monitors and automatically regulates the distance from the vehicle in front as required even down to a halt by means of the stop-and-go function (usable at 19+ mph). Additional functions: audible warning if too close; warning by active jolt of the brakes; strategic braking; visual and audible warning if objects are detected within collision range.
The system for increasing driving dynamics and stability works with variable torque split on the rear wheels and a rear differential lock. Standard in the 718 GTS 4.0 models, otherwise optional.
