Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM)

PASM is an electronic damping control system and is fitted as standard. It regulates the damping force based on current road conditions and driving style. Two modes are available: ‘Normal’, which is a blend of performance and comfort, and ‘Sport’, where the setup is much firmer. In addition, the body is 10 mm lower than that of the Boxster S.

Sport Chrono Package

Integrated as standard, the Sport Chrono Package not only features a digital and an analogue stopwatch for recording lap times, it offers a sportier setup for the engine, chassis and gearbox. The SPORT PLUS button gives the option of a harder damper setting and a more direct steering response. In short, it delivers a particularly pure driving feel.

The Sport Chrono Package also includes dynamic transmission mounts. Selectable by the SPORT or SPORT PLUS button, they reduce the perceptible oscillations and vibrations of the drivetrain and the engine. The result is sporty cornering – and even greater comfort.

Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV)

Optional PTV with rear differential lock is designed to provide a further improvement in dynamic performance. To be more specific, when the car is driven assertively into a corner, moderate brake pressure is applied to the inside rear wheel. For greater angular momentum in the direction of steering. When accelerating out of the corner, the rear differential lock provides increased traction.

Safety Concept

Occupant protection is provided by the bodywork design, which has been optimized for stiffness, two full-size airbags fitted as standard and the Porsche Side Impact Protection System (POSIP) featuring two side airbags and steel side impact protection elements, respectively. To match the considerable engine power of the Boxster GTS, the front and rear axles are equipped with four-piston aluminum monobloc fixed brake calipers.

Interior

Wouldn’t it be nice if the authentic sports car feel could be further intensified? It can be – with the optional GTS interior package.

The sporty contrast of the exterior theme is continued in the interior. The standard black interior of the Boxster GTS is supplemented by sporty accents in Carmine Red or Rhodium Silver. These include ‘GTS’ logos embroidered on the headrests in the contrasting color. Also in the contrasting color are the dial face of the rev counter, selected decorative seams, the ‘PORSCHE’ logo on the floor mats and the edges of the seat belts. The sporty, progressive impression is purposefully reinforced by the material carbon, which is used for the decorative trims of the dashboard and doors as well as for the centre console, resulting in sharply refined sportiness for enhanced driving pleasure.

CDR audio system

Fitted as standard, the CDR audio system with 7-inch touchscreen is intuitive to control. It features a CD radio with FM dual tuner with RDS, 30 memory presets, dynamic autostore and speed-sensitive volume control. The AUX interface in the glove compartment enables you to connect external sources such as a compatible MP3 player.

Porsche Communication Management (PCM)

Optional PCM is your control center for audio, communication and navigation functions. Thanks to a high-resolution 7-inch touchscreen, it is intuitive to use and includes a navigation module with fast hard drive. The CD/DVD drive is MP3-compatible. An AUX interface and a USB port for connecting suitable external devices are provided in the glove compartment.

Sound Systems

Available as an option, the BOSE® Surround Sound System produces an impressive listening experience. The only way you can make it even more intense is with the optional Burmester® High-End Surround Sound System.

ParkAssist (front and rear) incl. Reversing Camera

Comfort, even in reverse. The image from the optional reversing camera is superimposed with dynamic guidelines to facilitate precise parking and maneuvering.

Bi-Xenonâ„¢ headlights including PDLS

Bi-Xenon™ headlights incl. Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS)

Integrated as standard, PDLS comprises Bi-Xenon™ main headlights with halogen auxiliary main-beam headlights, headlight cleaning system and automatic dynamic range control. Dynamic cornering lights provide even better visibility.

Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS+)

The optional Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus offers an additional function: the dynamic main-beam feature detects vehicles driving in front as well as oncoming traffic and adapts the range of the light cone automatically to the prevailing situation. This provides a stepless transition between dipped and main beam.

Exhaust emission control

Vehicles manufactured by Porsche demonstrate that even high-performance sports cars can achieve moderate fuel consumption and exhaust emission values in their respective category.

This is achieved, on the one hand, by the use of fuel-efficient technologies such as direct fuel injection, VarioCam Plus, thermal management, electrical system recuperation, auto start/stop and, in conjunction with optional Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK), coasting mode. On the other hand, newly developed catalytic converters provide efficient emission control.While the stereo Lambda control circuitry controls and monitors each cylinder bank separately. For each exhaust tract, Lambda sensors, together with the engine electronics and injectors, regulate the composition of the exhaust gas, while another Lambda sensor on each cylinder bank monitors pollutant conversion in the respective catalytic converter.

Recycling

Intelligent lightweight construction has been fundamental to the Porsche identity since 1948 for both technical and ecological reasons. This forms the basis for achieving low fuel consumption values in conjunction with outstanding performance.

On the technical side, various components are made with a high proportion of aluminium, magnesium, plastics and super-high-strength sheet steel. The materials used have been selected for their ability to withstand load, yet they are considerably lighter than conventional steel. As a result, the bodyshell of the Boxster models has a light-alloy content of approximately 46 %.

On the ecological side, all materials utilised are meticulously selected. We use only innovative and environmentally friendly components. All synthetic components are easily recyclable and each material is labelled to facilitate its separation for recycling. The reduction in the number of plastic variants helps to ensure more efficient recycling. Recycled plastics are used where they meet our exacting technical requirements. In short, the Boxster is around 95 % recoverable.

Fuel

The Boxster models are designed to operate on fuels with an ethanol content of up to 10 %. Ethanol has a positive impact on the CO2 balance since the plants grown for the production of this biofuel also absorb CO2 from the atmosphere. The release of hydrocarbons from the fuel system has been minimised thanks to the active carbon filter and the multilayered material from which the fuel tank is made. All fuel lines are made from multilayered plastic, steel or aluminium.
